Ever volunteered for the “burnt chop”?
You know, that moment when you offer to take the least desirable option, leaving the best for someone else?
Years ago, a good friend introduced me to the term “Burnt Chop Syndrome” and I immediately loved the relatable picture it painted.
It’s so easy to fall into the habit of putting others first, blending into the background and letting our own preferences, goals and dreams take a back seat.
But here’s the thing: when we stay in the back row too long, we risk missing out on opportunities that align with our strengths and bring us a sense of joy and purpose.
Breaking free from Burnt Chop Syndrome can start with one small but powerful step: asking yourself, “what do I really want”?
By clarifying our own goals and stepping forward we open doors to experiences that energize us and bring us closer to our goals – and let’s face it, enjoying a good chop tastes so much better than the burnt one!
Does “Burnt Chop Syndrome” resonate with you? Or do you know someone it would resonate with? Please share my post and share your own thoughts in the comments. I’d love to hear!!
Remember, change your view, achieve your goals. I’m here to help you uncover your potential in a whole new light. Changing the view, one opportunity at a time.
